He stated that he had wanted to kill Dr. Farooq Abdullah for the past 20 years due to personal reasons. He also stated that killing Farooq was his own motive.

 

 

He explained that it was his cousin Shatrujit Singh's son's wedding, and he himself was invited. He had the opportunity to kill Farooq today, but his attempt failed. He stated that he doesn't work; he owns two clothing stores and receives rent from them. He manages his expenses.

The accused, Kamal Singh Jamwal, son of Ajit Singh Jamwal, is a resident of Purani Mandi. He has been active in politics since his childhood. He previously belonged to the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party. He contested the councilor election from Ward No. 11 in Purani Mandi on the party's ticket.

Security personnel apprehended the attacker and handed him over to the police. The police have registered an FIR under several serious charges, including attempt to murder. The NC and other political parties have reacted strongly to the incident.
