Strength at the military level is very essential for any nation. There is no doubt in the fact that in the present era nuclear weapons are a major basis of the power of a nation. During the Russia-Ukraine war, the way Russia has put pressure on the name of a nuclear attack also attracted attention. Now the report of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has given a glimpse of the changing trend globally in the matter. It has also come to the fore that India is increasing its nuclear weapons stockpile.
Countries are strengthening themselves
The report said that India, Pakistan, and China are trying to strengthen themselves in the matter of nuclear weapons. Even though there is no change in China in terms of numbers, its strength has increased based on new launchers prepared throughout the year. Pakistan is also working on a new type of launcher. India and Pakistan do not release any official figures regarding the number of their nuclear weapons.
The number of weapons of America and Russia has decreased somewhat
The US and Russia have 90 percent of the world's nuclear weapons. Due to the destruction of old weapons, the number of nuclear warheads of these two has decreased somewhat in 2021. However, the number of usable weapons remains stable. On the other hand, Israel never publicly claims to have nuclear power, but it is believed that other nuclear-powered nations including Britain and Israel are also engaged in increasing their power.
These 9 countries have the most nuclear weapons
India also has nuclear weapons, but India's policy is that it will not fire nuclear weapons first. But no such policy or rules have been made in Pakistan. The nine countries that have nuclear weapons are the US, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea. Russia has 5977, America has 5428, China has 350, France has 290, the UK has 225, Pakistan has 165, India has 160, Israel has 90 and North Korea has 20 nuclear weapons.
Know- what is India's nuclear policy
India declared a nuclear policy of 'no first use' in 1999. That is, India will never use atomic weapons first. India will resort to its nuclear bombs only in the event of a nuclear attack. At the same time, there is no such rule or law in Pakistan. It is up to Pakistan's leaders and high military officials to decide when and under what conditions they have to carry out a nuclear attack.
