National Herald Case: Congress's 'Congress Satya BJP Jhoot' campaign starts today, 57 leaders will visit 57 cities

The Congress party will hold press conferences in 57 cities across the country between April 21 and 24. Congress media and publicity department chief Pawan Khera said on Sunday that the purpose behind this is to expose the lies being spread by the BJP in the National Herald case. He described the National Herald publication as a 'living monument of the freedom struggle'.

 

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a chargesheet against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the alleged money laundering case related to the National Herald. Since the names of the two leaders were included in the chargesheet, the opposition party is intensifying efforts to reduce the growing attack of the BJP.

Congress general secretaries and in-charges held a meeting on Saturday.

 

Last week, Congress workers protested across the country over the matter. The Congress called the matter politically motivated. Also, to counter this, the general secretaries and in-charges held a meeting in Delhi on Saturday. In the meeting, a strategy was prepared to deal with the matter. During this, it was emphasized that no crime had been committed by the Congress leadership in the case. He will hold press conferences across the country from Monday to Thursday to counter the BJP's misinformation strategy.

P Chidambaram will hold a press conference in Delhi. Shashi Tharoor will address journalists in Lakshadweep. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will hold a press conference in Shimla, Gaurav Gogoi in Jorhat, Syed Naseer Hussain in Goa, Prithviraj Chavan in Belgaum, Manish Tiwari in Chandigarh and Pranav Jha in Dharamshala. Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will address journalists in Bhubaneswar, Kumari Selja in Bhopal, Deepender Hooda in Kochi, Kanhaiya Kumar in Jaipur, Amitabh Dubey in Coimbatore, Tariq Anwar in Lucknow, Rajiv Shukla in Saharanpur and Alka Lamba in Varanasi.

Congress also expressed confidence in winning the fight against the central government on the Waqf (Amendment) Act. Alleged that the BJP is deliberately targeting the Supreme Court. Congress said that the court was only asking the ruling party not to make laws against the basic structure of the Constitution. Congress has announced its plan to organize 'Samvidhan Bachao Rallies' at the state level from 25 to 30 April and then at the district level from 3 to 10 May and finally to launch a door-to-door campaign from 20 to 30 May to take the party's message to every household in the country.

 

Allegation of money laundering of Rs 988 crore

Let us tell you that the ED has filed a chargesheet in a special court against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and others in the National Herald case, accusing them of money laundering of Rs 988 crore. It is alleged that a "criminal conspiracy" was hatched by Congress leaders to "usurp" assets worth Rs 2,000 crore of its public sector company Associated Journals Ltd by transferring 99 percent of its shares for just Rs 50 lakh to a company called Young Indian, in which Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are majority shareholders.
