The stage is all set for IPL 2023. From March 31, an exciting brawl between 10 teams is about to begin. Four-time champions Chennai Super Kings have made a big deal in the auction this time and have added English all-rounder Ben Stokes to the team. However, Stokes is giving one blow after another to CSK.

CSK's tension increased due to Stokes' decision

Chennai Super Kings had shed money like water on Ben Stokes and added him to the team by spending a whopping amount of 16.25 crores. However, the latest report by Espion Cricinfo has left CSK fans disappointed. Actually, according to the news, Stokes will take the field in IPL 2023 as a specialist batsman. This means that Stokes will not be seen bowling.

Stokes troubled by knee injury

Ben Stokes has taken this decision to manage the injury in his left knee. The English all-rounder has managed his injury brilliantly over the years. However, this injury of Stokes recovered again in the series played against New Zealand and he could bowl only 9 overs in two Tests. Along with this, he appeared in trouble even while batting in the last Test.

Stokes will not be available for the last leg

Significantly, Ben Stokes has already confirmed that he will not be available for the last leg of the IPL. Stokes will return home to play a one-off Test against Ireland and take over as England's captain. After this Stokes will prepare for the Ashes series. The final match of the IPL is to be played on 28 May.

CSK will have its first encounter with Gujarat

Chennai Super Kings are set to clash with defending champions Gujarat Titans in their first match of the tournament. Chennai's performance in IPL 2022 was extremely disappointing and the team ended the tournament in the 9th position.
