NZ vs AUS: Tim Southee and Kane Williamson uniquely celebrated the 100th Test, and came to the field with their children.

Kane Williamson and Tim Southee played their 100th Test together on Friday. Both the legendary players of New Zealand came to the field along with their children and celebrated the unique celebration of the 100th Test. The second test match between New Zealand and Australia started in Christchurch on Friday.

 

Both Kane Williamson and Tim Southee have earned the status of one of New Zealand's greatest cricketers. Together, both of them also helped New Zealand win the title of the inaugural season of the World Test Championship.

 

Williamson's brilliant entry

Kane Williamson received a standing ovation from the crowd at Hagley Oval when he came out to bat. Kane Williamson, however, could not make his 100th Test memorable and returned to the pavilion after scoring 17 runs. Josh Hazlewood got Williamson out LBW in the 32nd over of the innings. Williamson scored 17 runs in 37 balls in Christchurch.

 

New Zealand batsmen surrender

The New Zealand team is already trailing 0-1 in the series. Australian fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc forced the Kiwi batsmen to surrender in the second test also. Hazlewood took five wickets while Starc took three wickets and New Zealand were all out for 162 runs in just 45.2 overs in the first innings. Hazlewood took five wickets in an innings for the 12th time in Test cricket.

Mitchell Starc took three wickets in the first innings against New Zealand and achieved an amazing feat. Starc became the fourth Australian bowler to take the most wickets in Test cricket. The left-arm fast bowler has taken 357 wickets so far in Test cricket. He left behind Dennis Lillee, who had 355 wickets.
