More than 100 coaches of the Vande Bharat train are going to be manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Perambur. After the chair car, now sleeper coach trains are also going to hit the tracks. Their design is ready, just waiting for the board's approval. The target is to make 115 Vande Bharat trains in the next two years. Of these, 75 are chair cars and 40 are sleepers. ICF GM and Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer S. Srinivas say that all the trains will be made in two years. After April, these will also be made in Kapurthala and Rae Bareli.
Nonetheless, parcels of parts piled up at the front of the factory, indicating that work is in full swing inside. Hundreds of engineers and technicians are working here every day from 7.30 am to 2.00 pm. A complete rack is standing ready in the final testing unit. In this, experts are explaining the method of operation to the pilots. Some people were using cranes to fix the roof of the train on the side walls and base of the coach.
