There is another bad news for the people troubled by the rising inflation under Imran Khan's regime. The Government of Pakistan has increased the price of petrol by Rs 10.49 and that of high-speed diesel by Rs 12.44 for the next fortnight. A day before this, the Imran government had also given a big blow to the general public by increasing the electricity prices by Rs 1.39 per unit.

According to the Finance Ministry of Pakistan, the prices of kerosene have also been increased by Rs 10.95. At the same time, the price of light diesel has also been increased by Rs 8.84. "Currently, oil prices are the highest in the world since October 2018 at around $85 per barrel," the Finance Ministry said in its notification. He said that the entire energy sector has seen a lot of momentum these days. This is because of the demand and supply constraints.

Opposition red with this decision of Pakistan government

The Imran government said that even after this increase, it has avoided putting the full burden on the public. These new oil prices in Pakistan have come into effect today. At present, petrol is getting Rs 137.79 per liter in Pakistan, high-speed diesel is getting Rs 134.48 per liter. At the same time, the price of light-speed diesel is Rs 108.35 per liter. The opposition has turned red with this decision of the Pakistan government.

The opposition Pakistan People's Party has demanded a rollback of the increased petrol prices. PPP leader Mian Raja Rabbani said that just in September, the price of petrol was increased by Rs 9. He said that the prices of all essential food grains are touching the sky. The government should withdraw its decision immediately. Rabbani said that the price of petrol has become so much that it is now out of reach of the poor. The situation of inflation in Pakistan is that the price of edible oil has gone up to about Rs 400 per liter.
