Firing has been done indiscriminately in a moving train going from Jaipur to Mumbai. 4 people died in the incident. The accused RPF constable has been arrested in the case.

The incident took place around 6 in the morning. According to the information given by the Railways, the incident of firing in the train (Jaipur Mumbai Train Firing) took place near Palghar station in Maharashtra.

According to Railways, the incident of firing took place in the B5 coach of the Jaipur Express train (12956).

 

Who fired?

An RPF constable has executed the incident. RPF constable Chetan Kumar Chowdhary first shot his senior officer ASI Tika Ram Meena in a moving train, then killed 3 other passengers.

 

What was the reason for firing?

According to the Railways, the reason why the RPF jawan opened fire is yet to be ascertained. RPF has started an investigation. The Western Railway Police Commissioner said that RPF constable Chetan was not well and had lost his temper. However, he added that there was no argument between ASI Meena and Chetan.

 

What did the railway say?

Western Railway said that the RPF jawan shot and fled. The constable was caught at Mira Road with the help of Railway Police and RPF officials. The weapon has also been recovered from the accused.

 

The incident took place in the B5 coach of the Jaipur Express train (12956). It has been confirmed that CT Chetan on escort duty fired at the escort in-charge ASI. The train has reached Borivali.
