After the Waqf law, the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) formed for 'One Country, One Election' is going to start touring states across the country from May 17. The committee will first visit Maharashtra on May 17-18. After this, Uttarakhand will be visited from May 19-21, and Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana in June. This information was given by JPC Chairman PP Chaudhary on Tuesday. He said that the committee thinks that we should know the views of the whole country on this issue. For this, the committee is going to visit all the states.
The JPC chairman said about the committee's tour that whether it is a player, artist or common citizen, everyone will be talked to so that it can be decided whether this scheme is beneficial for the country or not. He also said that there may be different opinions in the committee, but with time all the members will be unanimous in the national interest. The country's leaders think for the good of the country.
Former judges will be present at the meeting.
