In Delhi-NCR, the lack of oxygen in the hospitals engaged in the treatment of the corona epidemic is causing a panic. In many hospitals, complete depletion of oxygen has cost the lives of patients. Because of the serious situation where Shanti Mukund Hospital in Delhi has started discharging the patients admitted to them due to lack of oxygen. At the same time, Kailash Hospital of Noida is also not recruiting any more patients.
Shanti Mukt Hospital CEO Sunil Saggar said that Delhi is badly affected due to the oxygen crisis in the hospitals. Because of the shortage of oxygen, we have requested the doctors to discharge any patients who can be discharged. We have left oxygen for about 2 hours. We can run some work by reducing the small oxygen cylinders and pressure. Our hospital currently has 110 patients on oxygen support and 12 patients on ventilators. Of these, 85 patients are required to supply around 5 liters of oxygen per minute.
Speaking about the situation, Dr. Saggar said that today the situation is very scary and unfortunate. We are doctors who give life to patients, but today we are not able to give them treatment even oxygen. If this continues, patients will die.
The hospital says that despite such efforts, we are not getting oxygen from anywhere. The Medical Superintendent says that we are also helping patients find beds in other hospitals.
Kailash Hospital prohibits the recruitment of new patients
At the same time, some similar situation is being seen in the Kailash Hospital of Noida. Even here, there are only a few more hours of oxygen left. Dr. Ritu Bohra, Group Medical Director of the hospital said that we have 4 hospitals in Gautam Buddh city, there is a problem in all. We have been told that we will be able to get oxygen after the next 36 hours. Because of this, we have stopped the recruitment of more new patients.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Thursday that oxygen has been completely depleted in many hospitals in the capital. Saroj, Rathi, Shanti Mukund, Tirath Ram Hospital, UK Hospital, Jeevan Hospital say that we have run out of oxygen. We are trying to give them oxygen cylinders in some way. Right now many hospitals in Delhi are facing a severe oxygen crisis. In some, the oxygen is completely gone, I have been receiving messages and emails from hospitals since morning. We are somehow recycling them from other hospitals and providing cylinders, which have a slightly higher stock.
