In the CBI case related to the excise policy scam, the Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party's Arvind Kejriwal till August 8.

Let us tell you that Kejriwal was produced in court through video conferencing on Thursday on the expiry of the judicial custody period.

CBI arrested him on June 26

Kejriwal is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in judicial custody in the CBI and ED case. He was arrested by the ED on March 21 in the money laundering case and by the CBI on June 26 in the corruption case.

Interim bail has been granted in the money laundering case.

It is worth mentioning that Arvind Kejriwal has got interim bail from the Supreme Court in the money laundering case and the bail petition related to the CBI case is pending before the Delhi High Court.

The CBI has described the Delhi Chief Minister as 'one of the main conspirators' in the irregularities related to the excise policy case. The agency has claimed that AAP's former media in-charge and Kejriwal's close aide Vijay Nair was in contact with several liquor producers and traders.

On the other hand, the court has extended the judicial custody of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and BRS leader K. Kavitha till July 31 in the case. Both appeared in the court through video conferencing. Along with this, the seventh supplementary chargesheet filed by the ED against Kejriwal is also to be heard today.
