Action Against SpiceJet: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), taking major action on SpiceJet, has banned 50 percent of its flights for 8 weeks. The DGCA has taken this action because of the fault in its aircraft. In the interim order issued by the DGCA, it has been said that the incident which happened between the date of April 1 to July 5 has also been mentioned.
The DGCA said that SpiceJet has failed to establish a safe, efficient and reliable air transport service. The order said that the airline is taking measures to prevent this, but it needs to maintain its efforts for safe and reliable air service.
On July 12, SpiceJet's Dubai-Madurai flight faulted the front wheel of the plane. Before this, many such incidents raised questions about the planes. The DGCA had on July 6 issued show cause notices on eight incidents of technical snags in the aircraft. The aviation regulator had said that the cheap service provider company has failed to provide safe, effective, and reliable air service.
