Need to control population rate

Former Foreign Minister of Pakistan Miftah Ismail, while addressing the seminar 'Reimagining Pakistan', said that the birth rate in India, Bangladesh, and many other Islamic countries is much lower than that of Pakistan. About 55 lakh children are born in Pakistan every year and the birth rate in Pakistan is the highest in the world. Miftah Ismail said that if Pakistan's birth rate was equal to that of Bangladesh in the last ten years, Pakistan's per capita GDP would have been 10 percent higher. He said that due to the increasing population, Pakistan is at the bottom of the Human Development Index. Even below African countries. Pakistan has to control its population for sustainable and fast development.

 

focus on education

The former Finance Minister of Pakistan emphasized focusing on education for the development of the country. He said that 50 percent of children in Pakistan do not study in schools. In Pakistan, only 44 percent of children enroll in high school, while in India this figure is 85 percent. The world considers India's IITs as iron. Now the former minister of Pakistan has also admitted that India's IITs are among the top institutes in the world and people educated by them are CEOs of top companies in the world today. Miftah Ismail said that while all the best universities are opening in India, the average youth of Pakistan is doing a diploma of three months. The former minister said that Pakistan cannot progress without improving the standard of education.

 

women empowerment needed

The former Pakistan minister also stressed women's empowerment. He attributed the increase in Bangladesh's exports to women's education and said that Pakistan cannot move forward by ignoring 50 percent of the country's population. Miftah Ismail said that if India and Bangladesh can do it, we too can do it based on good leadership.
