Neighboring country Pakistan seems to be caught in its web of terrorism. Troubled by terrorism, the people of Pakistan are taking to the streets and demanding action. A large number of people are on the streets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Locals of Swat's Charbagh tehsil and Shangla's Alpari continued their series of protests against militancy in the Valley on Friday. He took to the streets demanding the authorities put a stop to the elements ruining the peace in the region.
Why is the public anger against terrorism in Pakistan?
On Monday, an unidentified assailant opened fire on a van carrying school children in the Galibagh area of the Swat district, killing the driver and injuring two students. Angered by this attack, people took to the streets and demanded justice for the victims and an end to the series of terror attacks that were not stopping in the area.
Pakistan is reaping what it has sown. Many of India's most wanted terrorists including Dawood Ibrahim, Masood Azhar, and Hafiz Saeed are in a haven in Pakistan. Despite India's 'Red Notice' against these declared criminals, Pakistan has not taken any action. In such a situation, terrorism in Pakistan is moving toward its peak every day.
Pakistani public ready to take up arms against terror
According to the report of the Pakistani newspaper The Dawn, the protest on Friday was organized by a local organization Swat Qaumi Jirga, while elders, youth, and children from different parts of Charbagh tehsil raised slogans demanding the restoration of peace in the Valley. Participated in the demonstration carrying placards. During their protest at Matta Chowk in Swat's Khwajakhela tehsil last week, protesters warned that if officers failed to play their proper role, they could themselves take up arms to deal with terrorists.
The Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan is in trouble. Friday was the eighth protest by locals since terror activities resurfaced here in August. The most recent protest took place on Tuesday, when a school van opened fire in Charbagh, killing the driver and injuring two children. Protesters demanding the arrest of the perpetrators of the attack have warned that they will march to Islamabad if their demands are not met. Officials have blamed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan for the attack, but no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. According to the newspaper, the protesters have spoken to the local administration, but no avail.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, Amir Mukam also joined the protests to express solidarity with other protesters. He said that the demonstration will continue till the last terrorist is eliminated from the valley. In his remarks, Mukam said: "The PML-N will never compromise on peace in Swat." He said that we are against all forms of terrorism and we stand for peace with the people of Swat.
Similar protests also took place in the Alpari area of Shangla in the Swat district. The residents shouting slogans demanded lasting peace in the area and condemned the recent resurgence of militancy in parts of the Malakand Division. Political leaders, activists, educationists, lawyers, transporters, youth, and students from almost all parties participated in the protest organized by the local civil society body "Shangla Peace Movement", demanding peace and an end to terrorism.
