The BJP has served a notice to the Speaker over alleged inaccuracies in the speech of the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha. A day after the notice, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that any member trying to mislead the House would not get away easily.

Rijiju was referring to the notice moved in the Lok Sabha by BJP member Bansuri Swaraj, in which she urged the Speaker to take cognizance of her notice against certain inaccuracies in Gandhi's speech on the motion of thanks to the President's address.
Demand for action against Rahul
Rijiju further said that when the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha kept lying about many things, including facts and figures, the Speaker was served a notice and we requested the Speaker to take appropriate action. We are waiting for action.
The minister said that the rules apply equally to everyone as no member of the House is above the Speaker.

Rijiju further said that no one can expect to escape. One cannot get any special rights just because he comes from a privileged family. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said, "If someone wants to misuse his position in the House to mislead the House, he will not get away easily. The rules will catch them."
