Delhi Election: 'He considers himself a symbol of Muslim appeasement but...', Giriraj Singh hits back at Owaisi's statement

In the statement of AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, "He is not able to cover any topic other than Muslims. He considers himself a symbol of Muslim appeasement. The government does not conspire against anyone. The law does its job against those who incite violence."

Questions raised on Kejriwal contesting elections from jail

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said in Delhi on Thursday that if Arvind Kejriwal can contest elections after getting bail, then AIMIM candidate Shifa-ur-Rehman can also contest and win from inside the jail.

The AIMIM chief made this comment while campaigning for the party's candidate from Okhla assembly constituency, Shifa-ur-Rehman, who is in jail for alleged involvement in the larger conspiracy case of the 2020 Delhi riots.

Owaisi gave this example.

Addressing a public meeting, Owaisi said "If Arvind Kejriwal can contest elections after six months after getting bail in this country, then we will make Shifa win from inside the jail."

Further, the AIMIM chief gave the example of George Fernandes to compare with party candidate Shifa-ur-Rahman, saying that if Fernandes can win elections while being in Bihar jail for the 'Baroda Dynamite Case', then Shifa will also win the Okhla elections while being in jail and become an MLA.

This process has been designed as a punishment for them.

Why is Shifa in jail and why is Kejriwal not in jail? Why did Kejriwal, Sisodia, and Amanatullah get bail, but not Shifa and Tahir? Owaisi said that if Arvind Kejriwal can get bail in this country and contest elections after six months, we will make Shifa win from inside the jail...."

Slamming other political parties that criticized AIMIM for declaring Shifa ur Rehman and Tahir Hussain as candidates, Owaisi said those who are objecting to it should be ashamed. He questioned whether they do not see those MPs in the Indian Parliament against whom several serious cases are registered.

The AIMIM chief said, "Out of the total winning candidates in the Parliament of India, 250 such MPs have serious cases registered against them. Out of 250, 170 MPs have cases of rape, murder, attempt to murder, and kidnapping registered against them. Out of these, 94 are BJP candidates, 32 are Congress candidates, 17 are Samajwadi Party candidates and 4 are Shiv Sena candidates. They are sitting in the Parliament of India.

Put in jail in false cases

Said that people who did nothing have been put in jail in false cases for the last five years. Those who are protesting should be ashamed. (Tum chullu bhar pani mein doob maaro...) You don't see MPs with criminal cases in the Indian Parliament, you only see Shifa and Tahir..."

AIMIM has declared Tahir Hussain and Shifa ur Rehman as its candidates from Mustafabad and Okhla assembly constituencies for the upcoming Delhi elections. Both of them have been accused in the big conspiracy case of the 2020 Delhi riots.

Pravesh Verma also attacked Kejriwal.

In the statement given by AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi on AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, BJP candidate Pravesh Verma said, "Arvind Kejriwal should not contest elections. Taking moral responsibility, he should apologize to the people of Delhi for how he embezzled thousands of crores of rupees in the liquor scam, how he built his palace, ruined people's lives, and did not give them oxygen.

He said that he did not give jobs to the youth of Delhi. He did not build a single flyover, nor a single new university. Today our children do not get admission. So nothing happened. So Arvind Kejriwal must apologize."
