PBKS vs SRH IPL 2024: Chasing the target of 183 runs, the Punjab Kings team could score only 154 runs after losing 6 wickets in 19 overs. Punjab needed 29 runs to win in the last over. Everyone was assuming an easy victory for Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, 25-year-old Ashutosh Sharma, who was standing at the crease holding the bat to take a strike, was out to make a name for himself today.

 

In the last over, Ashutosh created such havoc with the bat that everyone became crazy about the stormy batting of this young batsman. The sun won in Punjab's house and Hyderabad rose, but Ashutosh stole the hearts and gatherings.

 

 

High-voltage drama in the last over

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins handed over the responsibility of bowling the last over to Jaydev Unadkat. Punjab needed 29 runs from six balls and two young batsmen were standing at the crease. Punjab fans had started leaving the field. The celebration of victory had already begun in the Hyderabad camp. Ashutosh sent the first ball of the over from Unadkat's hand straight across the boundary line.

What seemed like a six on the first ball was that Unadkat forgot his line and length. The Hyderabad bowler bowled the next two balls wide. Now 21 runs were needed from 5 balls. Jaydev bowled the second legal ball of the over and that too was sent into the stands by Ashutosh. Now there was panic in the Hyderabad camp. Punjab was hopeful of victory. Pat Cummins was busy talking to his bowler.

 

Ashutosh was successful in scoring four runs by running on the third and fourth balls of the over. Punjab needed 11 runs from 2 balls. Ashutosh was standing at the crease and the hopes of the Punjab fans were also intact. Jaydev Unadkat again bowled the next ball wide. Punjab fans were filled with enthusiasm again. However, Ashutosh could score only one run on the fifth ball of the over. Shashank Singh ended the match by hitting a six on the last ball, but Punjab remained 2 runs away from the target.

Hyderabad may have tasted victory, but these two-star batsmen of Punjab stole the show. Shashank returned unbeaten after scoring 46 runs on 25 balls, while Ashutosh batted brilliantly and scored 33 runs on just 15 balls. Forgetting their team's defeat in this match, every Punjabi fan was praising the stormy batting of Shashank and Ashutosh.
