The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has confirmed that the reason behind the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui is his close association with superstar Salman Khan, who has been on the hit list of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang since the blackbuck poaching case. Salman Khan was an accused in this case.
According to sources, Siddiqui's murder is being seen as a message from the Bishnoi gang to Salman Khan's close associates who have emotional and financial ties with the actor. An officer also confirmed that the firing outside the house of Punjabi singer AP Dhillon in Canada in September this year was also a warning. The Bishnoi gang also took responsibility for this firing. Dhillon had collaborated with Salman Khan for free for a music video.

Sources said that the Crime Branch, Anti-Terrorism Unit, Special Branch, and Criminal Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Police have been asked to collect details of everyone closely associated with Salman Khan so that any future attack can be avoided. The Crime Branch has also been asked to identify the routes through which weapons are being brought to Mumbai.

A worker, who had worked with Baba Siddiqui for 28 years, caught hold of him and took him in the car along with the police officer. Baba Siddiqui then told them, 'I have been shot... I will not survive... I will die.' When they were taking him to Bhabha Hospital, Siddiqui collapsed after crossing the Kherwadi signal. When they reached the reclamation, he held the worker's hand tightly and died.
