That's why Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh
This was the second-highest team score in the current IPL. In reply, the Delhi Capitals team was all out for 166 runs in 17.2 overs and lost the match by 106 runs. BCCI issued a statement saying that Pant has been fined due to a slow over-rate. Delhi Capitals also had a slow over-rate against CSK and was found guilty for the second time against KKR.

The statement further said, “This was Delhi Capitals' second offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct. Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh. The remaining members of the playing 11, including the Impact player, were fined Rs 6 lakh each or 25 percent of their match fee. Whichever is less, the penalty is imposed accordingly.
Pant may be banned

If the Delhi Capitals team continues to maintain a slow over-rate in a match, it will be their third mistake and in such a case the captain will be banned for one match. It is noteworthy that the Delhi Capitals team is in 9th position in the points table of IPL 2024 with three losses in 4 matches.
