Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that the government is giving Rs 50,000 per month to about three thousand players as part of preparations for the 2036 Olympic Games. The Union Minister appealed to all the units associated with the All India Police Sports Control Board to set a target of winning at least three medals.
He expressed hope that this achievement will create new records in the next World Police and Fire Games to be held in Gujarat in 2029. Amit Shah also said that regular sports practice for police forces will not only reduce stress but will also improve the quality of work. He said that he was confident that India would be among the top five medal-winning nations at the 2036 Olympics.
