The Kerala High Court had imposed a 15-day stay on the release of the controversial film "The Kerala Story 2." However, a division bench of the Kerala High Court later overturned the single judge's order and directed the Censor Board to review the film again. However, even in this situation, uncertainty over the film's release persists. Meanwhile, news has emerged that ticket refunds for "The Kerala Story 2" are being issued. Consequently, the petitioner has declined to file a contempt petition. Now, the Division Bench has also lifted the ban on the film "The Kerala Story 2." The film can now be released. It should be noted that "The Kerala Story 2" was scheduled to be released today, February 27th. However, due to a court case, it could not be released on its scheduled date.

What is the entire controversy surrounding the film?

In petitions filed in the High Court, the certification granted to the makers of "The Kerala Story 2" by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was challenged. These petitions claimed that the film portrayed Kerala in a negative light and could lead to a law and order situation. In the petitions challenging the film's release, the petitioners stated that both the title and promotional materials portray Kerala in a negative light. They contain themes that could disrupt brotherhood and compromise law and order. One petition also sought a direction to remove "Kerala" from the title.
