These petitions claimed that the film portrayed Kerala in a negative light and could lead to a law and order situation. In the petitions challenging the film's release, the petitioners stated that both the title and promotional materials portray Kerala in a negative light. They contain themes that could disrupt brotherhood and compromise law and order. One petition also sought a direction to remove "Kerala" from the title.
