Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur. Earlier, he landed on the Indian Army's Super Hercules aircraft on the Purvanchal Expressway. He is the first PM who has landed on an expressway from Hercules. He said that three years ago when I had laid the foundation stone of Purvanchal Expressway, I did not think that I would even get down on this expressway.
Without naming SP President Akhilesh Yadav, PM Modi said that the previous government did not support me. The then Chief Minister was too afraid to stand with me. He was afraid of losing his vote bank. For previous chief ministers, development was limited to where they had their homes. But today, as much as the demand of the West, there is a priority for Purvanchal as well. Today Purvanchal Expressway is bridging this gap of UP, connecting UP with each other.
Families dominated in Delhi-Lucknow
The PM said that in UP, we saw a long period of such governments, who showed dreams of industrialization without worrying about connectivity. The result was that due to lack of necessary facilities, many factories installed here were locked. It was also unfortunate that both Delhi and Lucknow were dominated by the familyists. The same thing happened with Sultanpur's son Shripati Mishra, he was insulted by the family members, which the people of UP can never forget.
If someone builds his house, he examines the soil, looks at other aspects. But the previous governments just made promises without knowing about the connectivity here, due to which development remained far away. Today I am seeing that some people are losing their temper, getting distracted, these are the same people who are not successful in their time, then they are upset after seeing the success of Yogi Ji.
Today, development is taking place in the state, so our sisters and daughters are getting the maximum benefit from it. By getting house, electricity, water, toilet, cooking gas, they have got rid of the biggest problem.
Message from the roar of planes
The PM said that there would be a roar of planes from here in a while for those who ignored the defense infrastructure for decades. This expressway is the expressway of development of UP, this expressway is the expressway of the progress of UP, this expressway is the expressway of the growing economy of UP. Yeh Expressway is the pride of UP, Yeh is the wonder of UP, I feel blessed to dedicate Purvanchal Expressway to the people of UP.
What else did PM Modi say?
The poor should get pucca houses, the poor should have toilets, women should not have to go out to defecate in the open, everyone should have electricity in their homes, there were many such works which needed to be done here. But I am very pained that the government which was in UP then (SP government) did not support me.
The way UP is developing, it is clear that the fate of UP has started changing. How many power cuts used to happen earlier, who can forget what was the law and order condition in UP, what was the arrangement of medical facilities here. The earlier governments had made UP such that there was no road here, there was a road here.
It is also a fact that in a vast state like UP, one city used to live away from another city. For the people of Purvanchal, even reaching Lucknow was like winning the Mahabharata.
I knew that the way the people of UP are being treated unfairly by the then government, discrimination is being done in development, just as the interest of their family is being served, the people of UP will always criticize the government which does this. Will remove it from the path of development of UP forever.
The specialty of Purvanchal Expressway is not only that it will connect 9 districts, but this expressway will also connect Lucknow with those cities where there is immense potential for development.
Beginning of speech in Awadhi
Earlier PM Modi made his debut in Awadhi. Said, when Hanumanji stayed on the earth, we were the feet of the people of the earth. In the battle of 1857, the people of Mahiyan are remembering the milk of Chhathi of the British. The battle of Koiripur can be forgotten for good. Today this holy earth will get the gift of Purvanchal Express. Because of which all of you remained unknown for a long time. Many congratulations to you all.
Purvanchal Expressway is the third runway expressway of UP, where fighter aircraft will be able to land and take off. Earlier, fighter aircraft have landed on Agra Expressway and Yamuna Expressway. Because of the security arrangements, an area of about 10 km from the venue is under security cover.
Now Touch and Go Operation
Under the touch-and-go operation, the fighter plane will touch the expressway and then take off. Planes like Sukhoi, Miraj, Rafale, AN 32, Surya Kiran will be included in the air show.
The construction of Lucknow to Ghazipur Purvanchal Expressway started about five years ago.
After the construction of this airstrip, UP has become the first state in the country to have three airstrips on the expressway.
Purvanchal Expressway will connect the country's capital Delhi directly with Ghazipur via Mathura, Agra, Lucknow, Azamgarh.
The Indian Air Force has successfully landed ships like Mirage 2000, Jaguar, Sukhoi-30, and Super Hercules on the Agra Expressway.
