West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to meet PM Narendra Modi on December 5 on the sidelines of the Chief Ministers' meeting in New Delhi. An official said on Sunday that in a possible meeting, Mamata may pressurize the Center to release the dues of the state. Apart from this, she can also raise the issue of erosion happening in and around the Farakka Barrage.

Meanwhile, there is news that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to meet Prime Minister Modi on December 5 on the sidelines of the chief ministers' meeting in New Delhi.
An official gave this information on Sunday. The chief minister is also expected to raise the issue of pending dues for implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in Bengal in the meeting, the official said.
Mamta Banerjee is worried about this
In a memorandum to PM Modi, Banerjee had informed that the state's dues from the central government till July 31, 2022, are estimated to be around Rs 1,00,968.44 crore. Banerjee had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing concern over the continuous erosion on the banks of river Ganga in Malda, Murshidabad, and Nadia districts of the state. He had requested the Prime Minister to advise the concerned ministry to conduct a detailed study involving all stakeholders and prepare an integrated plan to control the situation.
