
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted the countrymen on Gita Jayanti. Describing the specialties of Gita, one of the important texts of Hinduism, PM Modi bowed to Lord Krishna. Apart from this, PM Modi paid tribute to former President Pranab Mukherjee on his birth anniversary and said that Pranab Babu was a unique personality who was an excellent politician as well as a wonderful administrator and a storehouse of knowledge.
Mukherjee, a senior and experienced Congress leader, served as a Union Minister in several governments before becoming the 13th President of India. He died on August 31, 2020, at the age of 84. The Prime Minister said in a post on X, "His contribution to India's development is remarkable. He had an amazing ability to build consensus in various fields and this was possible due to his extensive experience in governance and his deep understanding of India's culture and ethos." Modi said, "We will continue to work to realize his vision for our country."
