The Southwest Monsoon has hit Mumbai and Delhi simultaneously. This has happened for the first time in decades. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rains will occur in many states of the country including Delhi, UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha today.
Where will it rain?
Heavy rain is likely in Odisha today. Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Assam and Meghalaya on 28 and 29 June, and in Arunachal Pradesh on 29 June. Light/moderate to widespread rainfall is very likely over the Western Himalayan region till June 28.
There is a possibility of very heavy rains in East Rajasthan from today till June 29.
Light/moderate to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rain, thunderstorm, and lightning is very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha region during the next 4-5 days.
Today, the possibility of heavy rain has been expressed in different places in Chhattisgarh.
Heavy rain is likely over East Madhya Pradesh today and tomorrow, West Madhya Pradesh on June 27 and 28, and Vidarbha on June 27.
South India will also see widespread rain during the next four days. Scattered heavy rain is likely over Coastal Karnataka till June 29. Kerala and Mahe have also been predicted to receive heavy rains on June 27.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over the Konkan, Goa, and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from today to June 29.
Light/moderate to widespread rainfall will occur over the Gujarat region and Saurashtra and Kutch during the next 4-5 days. There is also a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Gujarat.

According to the Meteorological Department, there may be continuous rains in Delhi for the next few days. Because of this, Yellow Alert has been issued. Monsoon knocked two days in advance on Sunday. For the first time in three years, the monsoon has arrived ahead of time. On Sunday, 50.7 mm of rain was recorded.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of continuous rain for seven days in UP. A warning of lightning has been issued in many districts of the state. According to the department, there will be heavy rains in 10 districts. An orange alert has been issued for heavy rainfall till June 27 in Bareilly, Bijnor, Mainpuri, Moradabad, Rampur, Firozabad, Etawah, Jalaun, and Auraiya.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Uttarakhand today. With the onset of the monsoon, there has been a drop in the temperature, giving relief to the people from the heat. It is raining heavily in many districts of the state including the capital Dehradun and Mussoorie. Due to this the water level of Ganga has also increased.
Rudra Prayag police said on Sunday that teams of the police force, SDRF, and DDRF have been deployed at the foot halts of Kedarnath Yatra amid heavy rains. Kedarnath has been closed till further orders due to heavy rains. Some parts of Haridwar City were also waterlogged.
