PM Modi said at Semicon India Conference 2023 – India's electronics production crossed $ 100 billion

Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) on Friday addressed the Semicon India Conference 2023 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. During this, he appealed to the people to visit the Semicon India 2023 exhibition. Along with this, the Prime Minister also welcomed the visiting investors.

 

There are only opportunities for you in India – PM Modi

PM Modi said that today the direction of the wind has changed. All this has been possible because of you guys. He told the investors that in 21st-century India, there are opportunities for you.

 

'Relationships keep getting updated through SemiconIndia'

Prime Minister Modi said that just as software needs to be updated, so is this program. Connections with industry, experts, and policymakers through SEMCONINDIA keep up to date. I also believe that this is necessary for harmony in relations.

 

"India's electronics production doubled in just two years"

At the SemiconIndia Conference 2023, PM Modi said that we are witnessing rapid growth in India's digital sector and electronic manufacturing. A few years ago India was an emerging player in this sector and today, our share in global electronics manufacturing has increased manifold. The Prime Minister said,

 

'Today the world is witnessing Industry 4.0'

PM Modi said that today the world is witnessing Industry 4.0. Whenever any industrial revolution has taken place in the world, its foundation has been the aspirations of the people of any region. It was the link between the earlier industrial revolutions and the American dream. Today, I can see the same connection between the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Indian aspirations.

 

What is the theme of the Semicon India 2023 conference?

Representatives of major companies are present at this conference. The theme of the conference is 'Catalyzing India's Semiconductor Ecosystem'. It reflects India's semiconductor strategy and policies. Earlier, the Prime Minister inspected the SEMICON India 2023 exhibition at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

 

Three agreements signed during PM Modi's US visit

Addressing the conference, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that during Prime Minister Modi's state visit to the US, three major semiconductor agreements were signed. The first is Micron technology... The second is Applied Materials, the most complex equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. Used, will be manufactured in India...Third, Lam Research will train 60,000 engineers on its Semiverse platform.

 

'PM Modi should establish Gujarat as a semiconductor hub'

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also addressed the conference. During this, he said that it is very important for us that for the first time in India semiconductor manufacturing units are opening in Gujarat. A special and dedicated Semiconductor Policy has been formulated by the Government of Gujarat for the Semiconductor sector. We would like PM Modi to establish Gujarat as a semiconductor hub.

 

AMD to invest $400 million in India

Mark Papermaster, EVP and CTO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) at Semiconductor India says, “AMD will invest $400 million in India over the next five years. AMD will enhance its R&D capabilities... Will make a big design center..."

 

"Now it's India's turn"

SEMI President and CEO Ajit Manocha says, “…I have been asked whether India is ready to be a part of the global semiconductor industry…Today I can say that the journey has begun. Likely to grow to a $1 trillion industry in 6-7 years. Now it is India's turn...India will be the next semiconductor powerhouse in Asia..."

 

'Taiwan will remain India's most reliable partner'

Young Liu, President of Foxconn at Semicon India, says, "...where there is a will, there is a way, I can feel the determination of the Government of India. I am very optimistic about the direction in which India will move forward. Prime Minister Modi once mentioned that IT stands for India and Taiwan. Prime Minister, Taiwan is and will remain your most trusted and reliable partner..."
