Sam Curran gets severe punishment for violating IPL code of conduct, Faf du Plessis fined Rs 12 lakh

Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis have been fined due to different charges. Let us tell you that two matches were played in IPL 2024 on Sunday. The first match of the day was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

 

After this, there was a clash between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans in the evening. In the first match, RCB captain Faf du Plessis was fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over rate. RCB did not complete 20 overs of its innings against KKR on time. This was RCB's first offense, hence Captain Du Plessis was fined Rs 12 lakh.

 

This mistake cost Sam Curran dearly

At the same time, Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran was fined 50 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL code of conduct. Sam Curran was found guilty of a Level 1 offense under Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Curran accepted the charges leveled by the match referee and his match fee was reduced by 50 percent.

 

IPL issued a release saying, "Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran has been fined 50 percent of his match fee for violating the IPL Code of Conduct in the 37th match of IPL 2024 against Gujarat Titans." Curran admitted a Level 1 offense under Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct. In case of a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct, the match referee's decision is final.
