Prime Minister Narendra Modi is responding to the discussion on the President's address in the Lok Sabha today. The motion of thanks on the President's address continues in both houses of Parliament on Tuesday as well.
Let us tell you that the budget session of Parliament has started from 31 January 2025. On the first day of the budget session of Parliament, the President addressed both the houses jointly. There was a ruckus in Parliament recently. Meanwhile, PM Modi is responding to the discussion on the President's address in Parliament today.
Got a chance to respond for the 14th time: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the motion of thanks on the President's address in the Lok Sabha. He said that I am very fortunate that the people of the country have given me the opportunity to respond to the motion of thanks on the President's address for the 14th time. Therefore, I respectfully thank the public.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we are in 2025. In a way, 25% of the 21st century has passed. What happened in the 20th century after independence and in the first 25 years of the 21st century, only time will tell.
PM Modi said that if we study the President's address closely, it is clear that he has talked about creating confidence in the people about the coming 25 years and developed India. His address strengthens the resolve of developed India, creates new confidence and inspires the common people.
4 crore houses given to the poor: PM Modi
In the Lok Sabha, PM Modi said, "So far, 4 crore houses have been given to the poor. Only those who have lived a difficult life understand the price of getting a house. Earlier, women had to suffer a lot due to a lack of toilet facilities. Those who have these facilities cannot understand the problems of the victims. We have given more than 12 crore toilets"
PM Modi's Sarcasm on Rahul Gandhi
Taking a dig at the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Those who do photo sessions in the huts of the poor for their entertainment will find the mention of the poor in Parliament boring."
Our model is 'savings as well as development', said PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in the Lok Sabha that there was a Prime Minister in our country who identified a problem and said that when one rupee is sent from Delhi, only 15 paise reaches the bottom... Everyone can understand who got the 15 paise. At that time, there was only one party from the Panchayat level to the Central level. We tried to find a solution and our model is 'savings as well as development', 'people's work for the people'... we made..."
We worked to save the public's money: PM.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that earlier the headlines of newspapers were related to scams and corruption. 10 years have passed, crores of rupees are left which have been used for the public. We have taken many steps which have saved a lot of money, but we have not used that money to build 'Sheeshmahal', rather we have used that money to build the country.
PM Modi said that before we came to power, LED bulbs were sold for Rs 400. We ran such campaigns that the prices came down to Rs 40. LED bulbs helped in energy conservation. This also saved about Rs 20,000 crore of the people of the country.
We healed the wounds and today we also bandaged them: PM.
PM Modi said that in the last 10 years, we have increased the savings of the middle class by reducing income tax. Before 2014, such 'bombs' were thrown, and 'bullets' were fired, which affected the lives of the people. We gradually healed those wounds and moved forward. In 2013-2014, tax exemption was only on income of Rs 2 lakh. Today there is an income tax exemption on income of Rs 12 lakh. We have healed the wounds and today we have also bandaged them. If we add the standard deduction of Rs 75,000, then after April 1, the salaried class in the country will not have to pay any tax on income up to Rs 12.75 lakh.
PM Modi also targeted Congress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at Rahul Gandhi's Indian State statement. He said that some people are openly speaking the language of urban Naxals.
PM targeted the Gandhi family.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it is fashionable for some people to speak about caste. For the last 30 years, OBC MPs have been demanding that the OBC Commission be given constitutional status. Those who see benefits in casteism today did not think about the OBC community then. We gave constitutional status to the OBC Commission.
PM Modi said that SC, ST and OBC should get more opportunities in every field - we have worked very strongly in this direction. I put an important question before the citizens through this House - have there ever been 3 MPs from the same family from the SC community? I also ask you to tell me if there have ever been 3 MPs from the same family from the ST community. There is a lot of difference between their words and actions.
