At the same time, Kolkata Police said that no permission was taken for any procession.

Union Minister and Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar wrote on Twitter that Hindu devotees were brutally attacked in the Park Circus Seven Point area of Kolkata when the Ram Navami procession returned. Stones were pelted on vehicles for carrying saffron flags. The windshields were broken. Chaos was spread. This was not accidental but targeted violence. And where was the police? It was just watching. It was silent and spineless. The same police force that was chosen by Mamata Banerjee herself. It has been completely paralyzed by the politics of appeasement.
