New Delhi, Feb 27 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday asked the opposition if it did not have any other issue to criticise him on in response to their jibe that he should be given a visa to come to parliament.
"They said you need a visa to come to parliament. I don't have to say anything but there are things that need to be done at international level," Modi said in Lok Sabha Friday while responding to the debate on President Pranab Mukherjee's address to parliament.
"Previous prime ministers went to these meetings, this prime minister has to go and so will the prime ministers of future.
"To make fun of this, has politics come to this level? Are there no other issues left to criticise me on?" he said.
Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien, during the winter session of parliament, had said the prime minister should be given a "visa" to come to Rajya Sabha as opposition leaders demanded a statement from Modi on communal comments by union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.
Opposition parties had also made jibes at the prime minister over his foreign visits.
