Jamia Millia Islamia: 12 Jamia scholars awarded PM Research Fellowship, this time the number doubled

12 scholars of Jamia Millia Islamia University have been awarded the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship.

 

According to a PTI report, the number of people receiving PMRF from Jamia Millia Islamia has doubled. Last year only 6 students were selected for PM Research Fellowship under the Lateral Entry Scheme of December 2020.

Jamia Vice Chancellor Professor Najma Akhtar said that this performance reflects the university's focus on high-quality research and I am especially glad that six out of the twelve students are girls. I hope this will inspire other students, especially university girl students to do well in science and engineering research.

 

12 scholars honored with Prime Minister's Research Fellowship

 

Nadeem Ahmed Civil Engineering, Mohamed Ariz Electrical Engineering, Mohamed Masood Biotechnology,

Gulnaz Tabassum Biotechnology, Ayesha Aiman ​​Biosciences, Sakina Masrat Physics, Mudasir Younis Sofi Physics, Shah Mashirul Alam Physics, Shaili Bharadwaj Chemistry, Sneha Shukla Chemistry, Abdus Samad CIRBSC 12, Nuha Abir Khan MCARS.

 

The fellowship amount will be received personally

 

All 12 research scholars will receive the fellowship amount individually. He will get a fellowship of Rs 70,000 for the first two years, Rs 75,000 for the third year, and Rs 80,000 for the fourth and fifth years. In addition, each student will also get a research grant of Rs 2 lakh per annum. Which is a total of Rs 10 lakh for five years under PMRF. The Prime Minister's Research Fellowship, PMRF was introduced in the Union Budget from 2018 to 2019. The objective behind PMRF is to improve the quality of research in various higher educational institutions in the country.
