New Delhi, Feb 10 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee Tuesday extended his greetings and felicitations to the government and people of Iran on the eve of the 36th anniversary of the country's Islamic revolution.
In his message to Iran's President Hassan Rouhani, President Mukherjee said: "On behalf of the government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to extend to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Iran warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of the 36th Anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran."
President Mukherjee said that India values its relationship with Iran greatly and a strengthened relationship between both the countries will contribute to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
"Over the past several decades, they have flourished and evolved into a multi-faceted engagement in various spheres. We value this relationship greatly and look forward to engaging with Iran on the full range of jointly identified priorities to our mutual benefit. We firmly believe that a strengthened relationship between India and Iran will contribute to regional peace, stability and prosperity."
