BJP is constantly responding to the allegations of Congress regarding the memorial of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Meanwhile, the officials have started looking for a place for the memorial of the former PM. The names of some places have come up regarding the memorial site of the former PM. A report has said that the memorial of the former PM can be built near Rashtriya Smriti Sthal and the memorial of former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh near Kisan Ghat. Both places are built on the banks of river Yamuna. Apart from this, there is also a discussion that the memorial of the former PM can also be built near Sanjay Gandhi's Samadhi Sthal and former PM Narasimha Rao's Samadhi Ekta Sthal. However, the government has to decide this.

The Congress accused the central government of not providing a proper and respectable place for the last rites of the country's first Sikh Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The Congress demanded that the last rites should have been performed at a place where his memorial could be built later. Regarding this, Union Minister JP Nadda had said that the central government has allotted a place for Manmohan Singh's memorial and has also informed his family about it. However, he did not tell where the memorial will be built.

Now a place is being searched for the memorial site of former PM Manmohan Singh. Officials of the Union Urban Development Ministry have seen the Samadhi Sthals located at Rajghat. For this, the land has been seen near the National Memorial Sthal, the place designated for the cremation of the President, Vice President, and Prime Ministers, the memorial of former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh Kisan Ghat, near the Samadhi of Sanjay Gandhi. Along with this, a memorial is also being considered near PV Narasimha Rao's Samadhi Ekta Sthal.

UPA government's rule is becoming an obstacle

In the year 2000, the UPA government expressed concern over the decreasing land situation in the capital. Along with this, it was decided not to build new memorials. 18 memorials have been built for national representatives. These include Rajghat, Shanti Van, Shakti Sthal, Veer Bhumi, Ekta Sthal, Samta Sthal, and Kisan Ghat. All these memorials are built on more than 245 acres of land. While Sanjay Gandhi's Samadhi is also at Smriti Sthal. Which has been built near Nigambodh Ghat. The former PM was cremated at Nigambodh Ghat.
