Both places are built on the banks of river Yamuna. Apart from this, there is also a discussion that the memorial of the former PM can also be built near Sanjay Gandhi's Samadhi Sthal and former PM Narasimha Rao's Samadhi Ekta Sthal. However, the government has to decide this.
The Congress accused the central government of not providing a proper and respectable place for the last rites of the country's first Sikh Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Along with this, a memorial is also being considered near PV Narasimha Rao's Samadhi Ekta Sthal.
