President Ram Nath Kovind, who is on a seven-day state visit to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, said on Wednesday that India always stands with the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). President Ram Nath Kovind further said that during the pandemic i.e. last year, India sent the vaccine to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Addressing the Parliament of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), the President said, “India has stood by the people of SVG even during the Corona pandemic. To show solidarity with SVG, we sent life-saving drugs here.
President mentioned many challenges
During his speech, the President mentioned various projects involving SVG's communities. He also said that all development projects have either been completed or are in the final stages of completion. Referring to the global challenges, he said, "The globalized world order has also brought with it many difficulties, including the climate change challenge." The challenges include political conflicts, cross-border terrorism, and supply chain disruptions to international peace and security.
President said, there should be an improvement in the institutions
He further said, 'Multilateralism is to be used as a tool to promote strong, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth in all countries. However, for multilateralism to remain relevant and effective, institutions need to be reformed.

The President said that to deal with the complex issues of the present times, the new world order we want to build should be an inclusive world order where every country can express its legitimate interests. President Kovind also congratulated the SVG for playing an important role in advocating for meaningful and timely progress in the intergovernmental dialogue process during the membership of the Security Council for the years 2020-2021.
