IPL 2025: Will Preity Zinta become the fourth Bollywood celebrity to win the IPL trophy? The Punjab Kings have a big chance.

The final of IPL 2025 will be played today between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This is a historic occasion for Preity Zinta's team Punjab Kings, because if the team defeats RCB, the actress will become the fourth Bollywood celebrity to win the IPL trophy.

Preity Zinta's team's IPL journey

Preity Zinta's team Punjab Kings has not won the IPL trophy so far. However, this time the team has made it to the final by performing brilliantly. Under the captaincy of team captain Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 2 and entered the final. Shreyas Iyer played an important role in the team's victory by scoring an unbeaten 87 off 41 balls.

Preity Zinta gave a message to the team.

Before the final, Preity Zinta shared an inspiring message for the players of her team on social media. She appealed to the players to focus, follow the advice of coach Ricky Ponting, and play as a team.

He wrote, 'My message to the players of Punjab Kings is - do not pay attention to external things, focus on the game, listen to Ricky, play as a team and have a lot of fun on the field, win the trophy for us this time.'

The challenging journey of Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is also ready to win the IPL trophy. The captain of the team is Rajat Patidar but wants to dedicate the trophy to Virat Kohli by winning it completely. RCB has made it to the finals three times so far but has not been successful in winning the trophy. This time the team's eyes are on winning the trophy for the first time.

Shilpa-Shahrukh has won the trophy

Earlier, the first Bollywood celebrity to win the IPL trophy was Shilpa Shetty, who used to be the owner of the team Rajasthan Royals at that time. In the first season of IPL in 2008, Rajasthan Royals won under the captaincy of Shane Warne. However, Shilpa is no longer the owner of Rajasthan Royals. In 2015, Shilpa gave up her stake in this team due to the betting case.

After this, Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla also got the good fortune of winning the IPL trophy not once or twice but three times by their Kolkata Knight Riders. Both these co-owners won the IPL title in the years 2012, 2014 and 2024.
