The ups and downs in corona cases in the country continue. In the last 24 hours, 16,065 new cases of the corona were registered in the country, while 37 people have died. At the same time, the number of active cases i.e. patients undergoing treatment has come down to 1.41 lakh. On Monday, 14,830 new cases were reported in the country and 36 patients died.

Meanwhile, cricketers Pooja Vastrakar and S Meghna are Corona positive. They were to take part in the match against Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Friday, but before that their reports came back positive. The Indian team left for Birmingham on Sunday morning without both the players. A BCCI official said that as per protocol, both the players can join the team only after a negative test.

Highest positivity rate in Himachal

Talking about the states with the highest number of infected, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and West Bengal are on the top. More than 1 thousand cases are coming here daily. At the same time, Himachal Pradesh recorded the highest positivity rate of 19.06% on Wednesday. 986 infected have been found here on the last day.

Double dose to 81% of the population in Japan, 4th dose to 31%

Japan has become the first country in the world where a record seventh wave of corona infection has occurred. In Japan, with a population of about 12.50 million, so far 81% of the population has received a double dose of the vaccine, while 31% have received the fourth dose. About 10 thousand cases were coming every day in Japan about four weeks ago, but now on average, about 1.75 lakh cases are coming every day.

At present, it is a matter of relief for Japan that the hospitalization rate of corona infected there is only 10%. In such a situation, there are no long queues for admission of patients in hospitals. Vaccine availability is also sufficient. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has appealed to the people to be more careful. He has ruled out the possibility of imposing an emergency or other stringent restrictions for the time being.

Omicron's ba.5 sub-variant mutated, testing also increased

Experts believe that the BA.5 sub-variant of Omicron has become mutated in Japan. Due to this, the structure of the virus has changed. Due to this, the effect of the corona vaccine is also decreasing. During the last month, the Japanese government has ordered an intensified corona investigation. Out of every 100 people, 85 are being screened. According to experts, due to this, there is a sudden increase in the number of infected people.

70% of youth did not take the third dose of the vaccine

Kazuhiro Takido of Japan's Central Infectious Diseases Department says there has been a reluctance to get a third dose of the vaccine among young people aged 12 to 35 in Japan. In early 2022, the government announced the third and fourth doses. Yet 70% of the youth aged 12 to 35 years have not yet administered the third dose. Takido says that the third and fourth doses should be made mandatory.

More impact in 17 out of 47 provinces, many events canceled

17 of Japan's 47 prefectures account for nearly 50 percent of total infection cases. In these states, there is a possibility of imposition of some restrictions in case the situation does not improve in the next few days. The event itself had to be canceled due to the infection of 9 players of the football team of Nagoya province. Also, Japan's famous sumo wrestler Hisashi Mitakumai himself has been infected. They have also canceled their events.
