Delhi's Directorate of Information and Publicity (DIP) issued a recovery notice of Rs 163.62 crore from the Aam Aadmi Party. AAP will have to deposit this money within 10 days.

As per reports, this amount includes Rs 99.31 crore as principal and Rs 64.31 crore as penal interest. This action was taken on the instructions of Delhi LG VK Saxena, in which he directed the Chief Secretary to recover Rs 97 crore from the Aam Aadmi Party on the allegation of misappropriation of money by passing political advertisements as an official during 2015-2016.

The Delhi High Court formed a three-member committee in August 2016 to investigate the amount spent on advertisements. This committee submitted its report on 16 September 2016, in which AAP was found guilty.
