Allu Arjun won the National Award for his brilliant performance in the 2021 blockbuster film 'Pushpa: The Rise'. Now he is bringing his film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' on December 5. In a recent event, the actor revealed the reason why he decided not to work in Hindi films. Also, he shared the experience of winning the National Award.

At a press conference during the promotion of 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' held in Mumbai, Allu Arjun shared his feelings about getting the National Award. He attributed his achievement to the hard work of his team, especially the hard work of director Sukumar. Allu Arjun said that his desire to get the National Award started even before 'Pushpa: The Rise' and he had always resolved to take his art to such a level that he could be worthy of this honor. He described this success as a team effort.
Sukumar had made a special promise to Allu Arjun
Allu Arjun also revealed that director Sukumar had promised him to make a film that would be worthy of getting him a National Award. Sukumar had told the actor that he would put in all his hard work and make a film in which the audience would feel that the award was given at the right place. Arjun said, "This is the most special because, in the last 69 years, no Telugu actor could win the National Award. It was in my heart and it is a special achievement of my life. It has happened only because of one man, Sukumar garu."
Why did Allu Arjun not want to work in Bollywood?
Allu Arjun also talked about his relationship with music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), who won the National Award for his music direction in 'Pushpa: The Rise'. He recalled that both are from Chennai and at one time considered working in Hindi films a challenge. However, Allu Arjun felt that it would be easy for DSP to work in Bollywood as a composer. Allu Arjun said, "I used to ask him why he doesn't do a Hindi film, and he used to say, 'No, and why don't you? Along with you, I will also do a Hindi film.' I said I would never do a Hindi film because it was very difficult to enter the industry at that time."
Allu wants to work in Hindi films now.
Allu Arjun also shared that the dream of working in Hindi films once seemed far away, but now he hopes that he will work in one or two Hindi films in the future. The actor said that after initially finding it difficult, he and DSP now feel proud of their journey, especially after winning the National Award. Allu Arjun believes that making a super-hit album and winning the hearts of the audience is the biggest achievement for the 'Pushpa' team.
