India's veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his retirement. At the age of 38, Ashwin has announced his retirement from international cricket. He surprised the cricket world by announcing his retirement in the middle of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Ashwin got a chance to play in the Adelaide Test match in BGT 2024-25, in which he did not perform well. There was little hope of him getting a chance in the future or not, because Ravindra Jadeja performed well in Brisbane. Ashwin's retirement was inferred when he looked emotional in the dressing room and Virat Kohli hugged him.
But after the Gabba Test match was drawn, Ashwin officially announced it in the press conference. Ashwin himself came to the press conference after the match and sitting next to Rohit Sharma, he quickly announced his retirement.

R Ashwin will be seen playing IPL.
Ashwin, who has played 287 international matches, will no longer be seen playing in international cricket matches. However, he will continue to play in the IPL. CSK bought Ashwin for Rs 9.75 crore for IPL 2025. Ashwin has returned to CSK after 7 years. He made his IPL debut in 2009 playing for CSK. Ashwin has played for Rajasthan Royals, RCB, and Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.
