Actor and Makkal Nidhi Mayyam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan on Friday started his innings in the Parliament House by taking oath as a Rajya Sabha member. The actor's colleagues in Parliament welcomed and congratulated him by thumping the table.

The actor read the oath in Tamil in Parliament and took the oath, after which fellow MPs welcomed the actor by thumping the table and expressing happiness. Kamal Haasan's election to the Upper House is an important milestone in his political journey, as he is playing such a role in politics at the national level for the first time.
