Rahul Dravid, who led the Indian team to win the T20 World Cup under his coaching, is spending quality time with his family away from cricket these days. However, he is seen in some award functions in between. Recently he was seen in the CEAT Cricket Samman ceremony held in Mumbai, where he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. In this ceremony, he was also asked questions about acting, to which he replied in such a way that everyone was left speechless. This style of Dravid is not new and this specialty of his makes him have a special place in the hearts of the fans.
Actually, during the question and answer session during the award show, someone asked him - If your biopic is made, then which actor would you like to see playing your role in it? To this, Dravid jokingly replied - 'If I get more money, then I would like to play this role myself.' After saying this, he laughed loudly and the people present there also could not stop themselves from laughing. Earlier, Dravid had also stated the ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024. Dravid believes that sometimes a little luck can also affect the results of a big match, for which he gave the example of India's heartbreaking defeat to Australia in the ODI World Cup final and his team's spectacular victory against South Africa in the T20 World Cup final.
India reached the ODI World Cup final last year after winning 10 consecutive matches, but when the best team of the tournament clashed with Australia in the title match, nothing worked out for them. Six months later, captain Rohit Sharma and Dravid together completed the unfinished task. Luck favored the Indian team against strong South Africa in the T20 World Cup final. Regarding the changes in Team India between the two tournaments, Dravid said that he did not do anything different in terms of preparation, planning, and execution and he did not want to change anything in the team.
Dravid said, 'To be honest, I did not want to do anything different. I think we had a fantastic campaign in the ODI World Cup. Rohit and the team, everyone involved in that ODI World Cup, we had a fantastic campaign. We couldn't have prepared better, planned better, and executed better. What we did to win 10 matches in a row was our mindset throughout the tournament. We did what we felt was right. I have never been part of a World Cup in India as a player but as a coach the experience of going from city to city and just walking and seeing what this game means to the people of this country was phenomenal. It was unbelievable. We lost the final and Australia played better cricket than us that day. They were a better team and congratulations to them. That can happen in sports and that's what sports are all about.
