Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, said that if the Waqf Amendment Bill is passed in the Rajya Sabha, the Personal Law Board will go to court and challenge the bill. We hope that we will get justice because our stand is on constitutional facts. He said that the Muslim community had hoped that Nitish Kumar's party Janata Dal United and Chandrababu Naidu's party Telugu Desam Party would oppose the bill, but this did not happen.
He said that it would have been better if all the parties had strongly opposed the bill with strong facts. If the bill is passed in the Rajya Sabha, the Personal Law Board will challenge it in court.
