Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers on Tuesday protested against the Karnataka government's decision to implement a four percent reservation for Muslims in public contracts.

VHP attacks Siddaramaiah government

Yelahanka Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Ratnakar Bhat termed the Siddaramaiah government's decision as unconstitutional and demanded that no reservation should be given based on religion. We are demanding on behalf of Vishwa Hindu Parishad that no contract should be given on religious grounds.

The Supreme Court has said that reservation cannot be given based on religion. This is the politics of appeasement. Bajrang Dal worker Anil Kumar criticized the decision of the Congress government of Karnataka and said that the Congress is becoming like the Muslim League. Ever since the Congress came to power in Karnataka, it has become completely anti-Hindu.

Amendment to KTPP Act approved.

The Karnataka State Cabinet has approved amendments to the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (KTPP) Act, aimed at providing four per cent reservation in tenders to minority contractors.

However, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has clarified that the state government's decision to provide four percent reservation in government contracts is not only for Muslims but for all minority communities and backward classes.
