Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has reached New Delhi for a two-day state visit. Many senior officials including the Minister of State for External Affairs have been present on the spot at the airport to welcome him. Minister of State Bharti Pawar welcomed Meloni and later she also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the first time in five years, a high leader of a European nation has come on a state visit.
He is the chief guest at the 8th Raisina Dialogue.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia is coming as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and a high-level business delegation. Meloni will be the chief guest and keynote speaker at the 8th Raisina Dialogue to be held this evening. It will be inaugurated by PM Modi. Italy's PM Meloni was accorded a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Explain that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Meloni will discuss bilateral, regional, and global issues.
Both countries are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will also meet Italian Prime Minister Meloni. Meloni will call on President Draupadi Murmu in the afternoon. Significantly, India and Italy are celebrating the 75th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. In a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, he said the multi-faceted bilateral relationship will focus more on shared cultural values and the promotion of economic development.

Green energy, science, technology, cooperation in the field of defense, and regional and global issues will also be discussed in the meeting of the two countries.
