According to the ED, Agrasen Gehlot's company Anupam Krishi was involved in the export of Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilizer despite the ban on its export. Indian Potash Limited (IPL) exports the MOP and sells it on subsidy to the farmers. Agrasen Gehlot was an authorized dealer of IPL.
Between 2007 and 2009, his company bought MOP at a subsidy rate. Instead of selling it to the farmers, it was sold to another company for profit. Those companies took the MOP to Malaysia and Singapore in the name of industrial salt. The investigation of this case is pending in the ED. In this case, the customs department had also imposed a penalty of about Rs 5.46 crore on Agrasen's company. The ED is also probing the matter. At the same time, the High Court had stayed the arrest of Agrasen Gehlot in the case related to the ED. Now CBI has started an investigation into this case.
