Ranipokhari SHO Jitendra Chauhan told that a huge amount of water was coming into the river since the last day. Water was hitting both sides of the bridge. The District Magistrate has reached Dehradun on the spot. He said that the entire incident has been monitored. For now, both the traffic has been stopped. This is an important bridge connecting Garhwal to the capital.
As of now, there is no loss of life or property due to this. Two small elephant vehicles a homini are stranded below before the bridge collapses. The administration is waiting for the water to stop so that the process of evacuating the vehicles that have been buried under the bridge will be done.
