The winning streak of the Indian team continues in the T20 World Cup 2024. Team India defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs on Thursday. This was Team India's fourth win in this edition. On Thursday, Afghanistan's innings was reduced to 134 runs in response to India's 181 runs. With this victory against Rashid Khan's team, the Indian team also achieved a special feat. Not only this, Rohit Sharma's team is also on the verge of breaking a record made in 2022.

All 10 wickets of Afghanistan fell as caught out

All the wickets of Afghanistan fell as caught out. This is only the second time in the T20 World Cup that 10 wickets of a team have fallen as caught out. The first time also this happened against Afghanistan. In the 2022 T20 World Cup, England caught out all 10 players of Afghanistan in Perth and sent them to the pavilion. Now India is the second team to do so after England. Afghanistan batsmen had no answer to the Indian bowlers in Bridgetown.

Team India's eighth consecutive T20 win

At the same time, this is Team India's eighth consecutive win in T20. This winning streak of India has been going on since December 2023. In T20 Internationals, the Indian team has won the most matches consecutively between November 2021 and February 2022. During this, Team India had won 12 T20 matches in a row. At the same time, between January 2020 and December 2020, the Indian team had won nine consecutive T20 matches. If Rohit Sharma wins the next two matches, he will leave nine matches behind. At the same time, if the Indian team manages to win the final as well, then it will also equal the record of winning 12 matches in a row.

What happened in the match?

On the strength of the brilliant bowling of fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, India registered their fourth consecutive win in the T20 World Cup. India defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs and won the Group A match of the Super Eight stage. Batting first, India scored 181 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs with the help of Suryakumar Yadav's half-century. Surya scored 53 runs in 28 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. Apart from this, Hardik Pandya scored 32 runs in 24 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. In reply, Bumrah and Arshdeep took three wickets each, based on which India bundled out Afghanistan for 134 runs in 20 overs. For Afghanistan, Azmatullah Omarzai scored the highest 26 runs in 20 balls with the help of two fours and a six.
