India defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs and won the Group A match of the Super Eight stage. Batting first, India scored 181 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs with the help of Suryakumar Yadav's half-century. Surya scored 53 runs in 28 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. Apart from this, Hardik Pandya scored 32 runs in 24 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes. In reply, Bumrah and Arshdeep took three wickets each, based on which India bundled out Afghanistan for 134 runs in 20 overs. For Afghanistan, Azmatullah Omarzai scored the highest 26 runs in 20 balls with the help of two fours and a six.
