Every year, Ravana is burnt on the occasion of Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami. This year, Dussehra was celebrated on October 2nd, and on that day, a Bollywood actress sparked controversy by sharing a post. This actress is Simi Garewal.

Known for her outspokenness in Hindi cinema, Simi Garewal shared a post on Dussehra that led to her being heavily trolled on social media. She praised Ravana and called him an intellectual. She said that Ravana wasn't bad, just a little mischievous.

Simi posted a controversial post on Dussehra.

On Dussehra, Simi Garewal shared a post on her X handle, saying, "Dear Ravana, every year on this day we celebrate the victory of good over evil, but technically, your behavior should have been changed from 'bad' to 'a little mischievous.' What exactly did you do? I agree that you kidnapped a woman in a hurry, but then you gave her more respect than women normally get these days. You provided her with good food, shelter, and even female security guards (though not very good-looking ones)."

Simi Garewal continued, "Your marriage proposal was incredibly polite, and you didn't resort to an acid attack when I refused. Even when Lord Ram struck you, you were smart enough to apologize. I'm sure you're more educated than half the people in our Parliament. Trust me, friend, we have no hard feelings about burning you. It's just a trend. Happy Dussehra." This post by Simi sparked so much controversy that the actress deleted it.

Simi Garewal was severely trolled

One user expressed displeasure over her post, saying, "I wish this fake intellectual Simi Garewal would read the Ramayana before posting this stupid tweet and making a fool of herself on social media. Ravana was not a good person; he was a vile person who once mistreated the Apsara Rambha, and her husband, Nalakubar, cursed him that if he ever did the same to any woman, his head would be split into pieces. Fearing this curse, Ravana did not approach Sita, but today's demons continue to praise evil people like Ravana."

Similarly, many users are trolling her for praising Ravana. One user even said, "Women like Simi, who underestimate the trauma of other women, are a real curse for society and for being a woman."

Simi Garewal is being severely trolled on social media. Currently, she has deleted the post but has not yet commented on the trolling.
