Junior doctors are on the streets demanding justice and workplace safety. They continued their hunger strike for the third consecutive day on Monday. On the other hand, the state government is maintaining silence instead of finding a solution to the issue.

Junior doctor Aniket Mahato, who was protesting, said, "Our indefinite hunger strike continues. We have not received any response from the state government. Let us tell you, that Mahato of RG Kar Hospital, Snigdha Hazra, Tanaya Panja and Anustup Mukhopadhyay of Kolkata Medical College, Arnab Mukhopadhyay of SSKM Hospital, Pulastha Acharya of NRS Medical College and Sayantani Ghosh Hazra of KPC Medical College are on hunger strike.
Accusation against police
The junior doctors also accused the Kolkata Police of not cooperating. They say that the police did not allow them to keep bio-toilets at the protest site near Dorina Crossing in the Dharmatala area of the city.

At the same time, doctors have installed CCTV cameras to maintain transparency at the place where the protest is being held. A large number of people and some celebrities reached the spot to support the doctors sitting on the strike.
It is worth noting that the junior doctors had announced a complete strike on Friday. This affected health services in state-run medical colleges and hospitals. The protesting doctors stressed that their priority is to get justice for the victim doctor. They also called for the immediate removal of Health Secretary NS Nigam and fixing accountability.
