Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will file a petition today to challenge the new Waqf law in the Supreme Court. This petition will be filed by Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha and party leader Fayaz Ahmed on behalf of the party. Former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav's party Rashtriya Janata Dal will knock the door of the Supreme Court. So far 6 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the new Waqf law.
At the same time, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has announced to protest across the country from April 11. RJD leader Manoj Jha said that he will challenge the provisions mentioned in the Waqf law in the court. He said that this law is going to violate the Constitution and it will also completely destroy the harmony of the country.
After this, applications will also be filed by different organizations. He termed the Waqf Amendment Bill passed by the Parliament as unconstitutional and against harmony.
When will the hearing take place?
Let us tell you that after being passed by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the Waqf Bill has now been approved by the President as well, after which it has acquired the status of a law.
RJD MP Manoj Jha, while talking to the media on Sunday, said that the Waqf Amendment Act violates the basic spirit of the Constitution. This is a conspiracy to spoil the harmony. It is expected that the Supreme Court will hear it soon.
On the question of its approval by President Draupadi Murmu, he said that this is the process of the government. We are doing what is right.
